Today I am sitting down with the wonderful Nicole Banks! Check out her Q&A!
Me: What books/authors have influenced your writing?
Nicole: J.r Ward, Melissa Schroeder, Kate Pearce, Joey W. Hill, Lori Foster…I mean the list can go on
Me: How did you come up with the title(s)?
Nicole: My title was originally broken free and I hated it…So I googled words that were similar to broken that just sounded better. The second book the title I believe I will find in this one scene I’m working on now.
Me: Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
Nicole: A little of both
Me: What books have most influenced your life most?
Nicole: Um can’t say books influence my life the most it’s actually music
Me:What book are you reading now?
Nicole: Melissa Schroder A little Harmless Ride
Me: Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
Nicole: The authors For Beautiful Bastards
Me: What are your current projects?
Nicole: Working on the second book to Shattered Hearts Series
Me: Do you see writing as a career?
Nicole: It’s always been a passion so I just wanted to live out my dream of being published and getting my voice out there.
Me: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Nicole: Probably make it longer and open up a couple of scenes
Me: How did you get started with the writing venture?
Nicole: I’ve always wrote I have a million and one books/journals/ diaries in my house…I took a class one day in creative writing and had to write two stories. Shattered was one of the stories I wrote. I entered the draft in a contest and won first place which helped me get my book published.
Me: Is there anything you find particularly challenging about writing?
Nicole: Finding the right names for the characters and the title for the story
Me: Do you have any advice for other writers?
Nicole: Just write even if it’s crap. Just write everything down.
Me: Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Nicole: Make sure you enjoy what you do because if you don’t you end up putting out crap.
Me: What were the challenges (research, literary, psychological, and logistical) in bringing it to life?
Nicole: Finishing it. I have a habit of not wanting a story to end so It was a matter of where I wanted to cut it off.
Me: What genre do you like writing the most?
Nicole: I’m a sucker for romance….though I want to try paranormal
Me: Do you ever experience writer’s block?
Nicole: All the time
Me: Do you write an outline before every book you write?
Nicole:Nope I just put down some ideas and let the story take hold of me
Me: Have you ever hated something you wrote?
Nicole: Yes and I hit the delete button and start over
