I decided to toss my Historical fantasy in the ring for #nestpitch. The King’s Assassin was a spur of the moment write and only my second attempt at historical anything.
I wasn’t expecting much. I wasn’t even expecting to make it pass the first round.
Boy have I been wrong! I made it to the agent round with Jeffe Kennedy hosting my pitch. I was surprised, shocked, and amazed I’d been picked. ME! Picked! For something! A writing something at that!
Then the secret bunnies started to stalk the blogs and make requests on the pitches. Again I didn’t think I’d get any nibbles. Yup, I was wrong again. I’ve had four requests so far.
FOUR!
Definitely my most successful attempt at anything.
It’s been amazing participating in #nespitch. Everyone is routing for everyone. Everyone offers so much support for their fellow author. It’s great. It’s a competition where people WANT you to succeed.
I’ve entered a few contests in the past year or so. I’ve NEVER been picked for anything. Ever! I didn’t think I’d get out of the first round. It’s AH-MAY-ZING!
There’s still 15 hours left for the agents to make requests. Could I end up with more than four? What if the agents don’t like the material I send them? What if the first 300 words were a fluke and that’s that? I’m nervous. My stomach is in knots and my head has exploded.
